When Giannis Galatis began his artistic journey back in 1958, it was quite difficult to find canvas on the island , so he started painting on old shutters , doors, pebbles, marble, driftwood.

This technique slowly became a trend and made a difference. Since then his unique technique and his work has travelled throughout the world. As a self-taught painter Giannis Galatis has his own approach to art.

Galatis Gallery also curates an extensive collection of home goods inspired by the Aegean breeze, the thirsty rocks and the angry waves of Mykonos.

He believes in constantly taking risks and believes that inspiration can be found wherever he looks.
